Glenis Gray

P1090047 cropGGGlenis grew up on the Isle of Man, an island in the Irish sea, shrouded in Viking and Celtic mythology but now lives in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland where she continues to develop her work through experimentation in, and exploration of, various forms of 2 and 3 dimensional media including drawing, printing, collage and painting .

Her art practice, born from her love of Art from an early age and a subsequent teaching career , often displays subtle references to the two  island cultures she has experienced, the then and now, which have provided  a rich bank of experience for her to draw upon.

Memories and imagination , drawings from life , quotes from wordsmiths…. whatever the source, her work is a response to the moment, a need to describe and the subsequent result is simply the ‘hard copy’.
