August Quarterly Changeover Exhibition

20160805_201315The theme for the quarterly changeover exhibition on 5 August was Pyjamas & Port. This was also our 4th Birthday celebration since the move to Yowie Park.

President Julie Henley welcomed guests and members and introduced the work of artist of the month, Marcel Desbiens and other exhibiting artists from Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Toogoolawah and our wonderful local artists.

During the evening KASI was presented with an anonymous donation of $1265, forwarded through the Kilcoy District Cultural Village Committee, which was graciously accepted and will go towards fundraising for the new deck at the gallery.

Everyone enjoyed a relaxed evening in their PJs with two wild animals in onesies aka Daryl and Vicki Higgins!

Best dressed winners for the evening were Jim Fitzpatrick and Ruth Hughes.

What’s coming up:

  • More art activities including an introduction to watercolour workshop on 19 August.
  • Another acrylics workshop before the end of the year.
  • Auction (8 October) to raise funds for the deck
