Artist of the Month: Margaret Pearson

We would like to welcome Margaret Pearson as our September AOM, a lovely member of KASI.

Margaret didn’t study art at school, focussing on academic subjects, but read art history for fun and bought art books when she started earning. She loved helping her mother market her pottery and they visited art galleries together. During her adult life, little encouragements, like appreciation for her thank you cards and a commission to do miniature individual pen and ink drawings on weddings invitations have affirmed her creativity. She has written and illustrated poetry over the years, but it has only been during the last few years that art has become a driving force.

Margaret’s works have a message and meaningful connection with the  viewer. Her exhibition represents  new beginnings and tentatively starting artwork again.

Margaret has enjoyed exhibiting as a member of the Kilcoy Courthouse Art Society over the past few years, and in her own words says, being a member of KASI has provided her with shelter and support.
