AOM April: Glenis Gray
Award-winning Sunshine Coast Hinterland artist Glenis Gray is the April Artist of the Month at the Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery. Glenis loves experimenting and pushing the boundaries with a broad range of art materials including mixed media, watercolours, pen and ink, printing and collage. Her artistic output results in both 2D and 3D works which are stunning, vibrant and contemporary.
Glenis says she is a “compulsive experimenter” and finds the liquidity and immediacy of ink and watercolour are especially attractive, bringing with them chance and spontaneity and not always feeling completely in control.
Among the large paintings displayed are some that have been selected for major competitions including a Finalist in the Moreton Bay Art Awards in 2016. Her painting, ‘Hinterland’ was a Finalist in the Noosa Art Awards and ‘Mary River Turtles’ one of 15 finalists selected for the Kenilworth Art Prize.
