Watercolour Workshop with Maria Field

We’re excited to have Maria Field in Kilcoy for this 2 day workshop on 17 & 18 June. This workshop is provided free of charge thanks to a RADF grant.

This workshop is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of watercolour, or for those who already have some knowledge, to improve on your current skills. Emphasis is placed on understanding the cause and effect of watercolour techniques and controlling paint and edges.

A variety of subjects will be covered including skies, seascapes and florals. All paintings will be demonstrated and broken down in a step by step fashion to enable the students to follow.

Individual assistance and guidance will be given to all students.

Day 1:

4 – 6 small paintings covering basics of watercolour painting.

Techniques covered will include landscape, seascape, floral and animals.

Day 2:

2- 3 larger more complex watercolour paintings, building on the previous day’s techniques.

This workshop is funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) – a Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Somerset Regional Council partnership to support local arts and culture.
