Art awards this week-end

Don’t miss the Somerset Bendigo Bank Art awards this week-end at the Somerset Civic Centre Esk.

It starts with the Gala Opening on Friday, 16 June. From 6pm -9pm. There’ll be smoky jazz from Sunny and Eskimo Jazz, delicious nibbles from Deb and a free glass of bubbles from SASI. The Grand Hotel, Esk is providing the bar with wine and beer on sale. There’ll also be a self serve tea, coffee and water table.

The official ceremony will have an MC and include Judges’ comments as well as revealing the winners and awarding them the prizes. Projections of the winning entries onto the stage walls will help you to know which artworks are being referred to. The exhibition is being opened by Shayne Neumann. Read more at the SASI website.

The exhibition continues for Saturday, 9am -5pm and Sunday, 9am – 2pm.
