Rock and Rolling the Night Away
There was a lot of rocking and rolling at the Kilcoy Art Society’s last exhibition opening for the year on Friday, 10 November. Members and guests donned their fifties gear and enjoyed KASI’s latest exhibition featuring 35 artists’ work.
Artist of the Month, Lyn Badman, is exhibiting her finely tuned pencil drawings. In keeping with the Rock and Roll theme for the evening Lyn donated her drawing of Elvis Presley which was auctioned to some keen bidders.
Everyone’s old Rock and Roll spirit was released with the splendid music played by popular local musician Bruce McDade.
Large swing skirts, narrow ties and greased hair were a familiar sight at the event. Judge for the Best Dressed Male was Mayor Graeme Lehmann and Judge for the Best Dressed Female was Judy Lehmann. Winners were Henk Vullers wearing an outfit reminiscent of “The Fonz” with his large leather jacket and Di Taylor won Best Dressed Female wearing a large red swing skirt, bobby socks and neckerchief.
