Busy year ahead
The Kilcoy Art Society conducted its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 1 March at the art gallery at Yowie Park. Outgoing President, Ian Badman was given a spontaneous ovation from all those in attendance acknowledging his hard work throughout the year.
New Life Member and Patron, Terry Dredge, conducted the election of office bearers. The new committee is Di Taylor (President), Dawn Evans (Vice President), Brian Wallace (Secretary) and Jenny Roberts (Treasurer). Terry Dredge and Daphne Taylor, were re-elected as patrons of the society. Councillor Cheryl Gaedtke was in attendance at the AGM and the General Meeting that followed.
It’s going to be a busy year for the society with the building of the deck overlooking the lake at Yowie Park. The building has commenced with the completion of the drainage – you can track progress on our Deck Page.
The Society will be participating at the Somerset Queens Baton Community Relay Celebrations on 27 March, between 1.00 – 4.00pm at the Kilcoy SS Sports oval adjacent to the Information Centre. A large mural will be painted by children during the afternoon under the title “The Day the Baton Came to Town”. The art gallery will be opened on the Tuesday from 1.00pm to coincide with the event.
