Lyn Badman

lyn-badmanI’ve enjoyed drawing from a very early age. I’ve had no formal training, however I’ve had two years of tuition with Brian Candy (pencil artist). Whilst I’ve “dabbled” in other mediums, I keep coming back to pencil as my favourite and have been commissioned to produce pencil drawings by people in U.S.A. as well as interstate Australia.

I retired to Kilcoy after 15 years working for Education Queensland with Pre-School aged children. After I joined KASI as one of the founding members in 2006, I took on the task of running Art Workshops through Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art for rural children. I was President of KASI for 4 years and was part of the team instrumental in getting the Courthouse Gallery moved to Yowie Park.

My husband, Ian, and I live on a lifestyle block at Hazeldean overlooking the beautiful Somerset Dam just outside Kilcoy. We’ve lived here for 13 years and thoroughly enjoy being part of this community. I now have my own long-awaited studio in a lovely setting in our garden, and look forward to being productive again after a break.
