Ann Caporn

Queensland born and raised in a small community there were limited opportunities to study art, however Ann was aware of her love of painting from an early age. Now semi retired and living on the Sunshine Coast Ann has the time to follow her passion.

Having travelled extensively overseas and in our own beautiful country Ann can draw from her own experiences.

“A painting has to tell a story”, and to that end Ann strives to paint light and life by capturing the playful interaction of people and animals in the environment. If a painting triggers a memory of place or subject, Ann can only hope the viewer can share whatever it was that inspired her to paint it.

Progressively drawn to less detail and more impressionism in her work Ann is mainly working in acrylic for the fast drying time. However, she turns to oil for her special love – portraiture.
