Exhibition

Starting 2017 with a BANG!

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to a brand new year which we hope will be a very prosperous one for us all!

Our very first Artist of the Month (AOM) to exhibit on our feature wall at the Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery is Ann Caporn. Born and raised in a small seaside town, there were few opportunities to study art. However, Ann was aware of her artistic nature from an early age. Mainly self taught, she attends as many workshops as possible with both national and local well known artists.

Ann is a realist painter who paints in a traditional style that is enhanced by a level of impressionism. She mostly works in acrylic but loves the result only oil can provide when painting a portrait. Favourite subjects include streetscapes or waterscapes, children playing on the beach, a lone fisherman – every painting must tell a story, every painting should bring a positive response.

Ann works from her home studio overlooking the river on the Sunshine Coast. A great source of inspiration and joy.

Please come and down to the Gallery in Yowie Park and see her wonderful collection (below) during January.

A reminder that the “Kilcoy Kollections” exhibition is on at the Somerset Regional Art Gallery – The Condensery, 29 Factory Rd, Toogoolawah, which includes a diverse and colourful collection of artworks from local artists, quilters, photographers, Kilcoy State High School art students and members of the Kilcoy Art Society Inc (KASI).

This exhibition has been receiving rave reviews which makes us very proud. Try and make time to see it, as it concludes Sunday 5 February.
