Somerset Bendigo Bank Art Awards

Entry is now open for the Biennial Somerset Bendigo Bank Art Awards 2019. There is $11,000 in prize money this year thanks to the generosity of sponsors Bendigo Bank and many other businesses in the Somerset region.

There will be two professional judges, Beata Batorowicz, Assoc. Professor (Spatial Construction – Visual Arts), University of Southern Queensland, and Doug Spowart, a cross-disciplinary visual artist with several formal qualifications, including a PhD in Visual Arts, and an arts practice encompassing photography, photo-books, artist’s books and digital media. Together they will select the winners of all prizes, except the People’s Choice.

This year there are a few changes including the introduction of a People’s Choice Award where the public vote for their favourite artwork, and there is a new category, Textile Art – The Hetty van Boven Textile Award sponsored by the van Boven family together with donations from the Somerset community.
